Ageing Australians need homes built with future in mind

Australia’s ageing population is growing and there has been much debate in recent years about how live-in residential and health care facilities will cope with the influx ageing Aussies who will need residential health care in the not-too-distant-future.

It is expected that there will be limited supply of age care facilities and hospital beds for the ageing population, forcing Australians to stay in their homes out of necessity. This means that for baby boomers with their retirement years looming, instead of simply downsizing when looking for a new home, they should also take into consideration a new home with good accessibility and low maintenance.    Continue reading
